Bringing your child up to be a little CHAMPION!

In the first world country that we are brought up in, everything that our child asked for from us, in their view, it always come easy. Be it comes to items, emotion etc, when they cry, most parents just simply give in to them in whichever ways they can just as to stop their irritating voice or actions which they have caused to others. However, have you ever wonder that by reacting certain ways to the child, you are developing 'something' in them? Or are you telling them 'something' through your actions?

So what do I mean by that 'something' here. It can actually means communication, character building, or a mix of both. So lets look into that 'something' and not make that mistake in developing your child!

Reaction

As a child, they can't express their feelings out properly as compared to us adults. Like example for a baby: They poop, they cry. They hungry, they cry. They have a fever, they cry. So at the very first stage, it is a form of communication that they are showing us and we react to them through our actions. So how we react to them in different situation will determine how we want to build their character at the same time. If you keep giving in to them, they will 'step on' your head (aka get overboard) one day which might not be reversible. 

Learning Process

A child can learn more than 10 words a day. When a child is old enough to start reacting to you when you call them etc, start to teach them some simple words or even basic communication using actions. Test them whichever you taught them frequently so as to make sure they can remember and not forget things easily. By doing so, it will in turn help you to communicate well with your child and also makes taking care of them easily. 

Communication

Talk to them like how you talk to an adult. This will in deed turn your child to think more for others too. Communication is a better way to pass on our knowledge and expression to one another. So using it the right way will allows good character building easier. 

'Technology-less'

This method is the same for some parents who do not give sweet drinks or fizzy drinks to their child till they are of certain age. If not, they will never want to drink water as often anymore. So same for technology. Avoid giving them technology to play with till they are at the age of 8-9 years old (not months pls!). Some parents give them iPad or iPhone as young as 1 years old! Their main purpose (most of the case) is just to stop them from that irritating screaming and shouting. But it will turn out to be a problem in times to come, example, they will have to play their iPad games and eat at the same time, if not, that plate of rice will never be finished. 

Discipline

Spare the rod and spoil the child. Nowadays, the parents give in to them as they are the only child or the youngest in the family. But when it comes to wrong doings, when you need to discipline them, you just have to do it. But bare this in mind: matters to matters and not to bring in other issue or previous issue when the disciplining is going. That is to ensure proper matter is handled. 

Parents, 

Your child is your only family in the future. Teach them the right way so that you will not regret in the future. Ripe the fruit in the future, for the strong character and foundation in their studies that you've laid in them.
